As office manager, Monica Alderson is responsible for the overall management, as well as the coordination and implementation of procedures and policies. She joined Jerry's team in 1997, and the experience and knowledge accumulated during her career has proven to be a great asset in providing quality service to clients.
She began her career in 1980 with a local insurance company in Cedar Rapids and was later introduced to the financial services industry by working in the administrative office of a local broker/dealer. Today, she holds Series 7 and 63 registrations.
Monica grew up on a dairy farm in Eastern Iowa. She currently resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Mark. They have two grown children and four grandchildren. Monica is a member of the Freedom Stitchers of Iowa and Quilts of Valor Foundation. She volunteers her time to make quilts that are presented to veterans of all services that have served our great Country. She is also a Blanketeer for Project Linus, a non-profit organization who provide homemade quilts and blankets to children in need.
During the COVID-19 outbreak of 2020, Monica made and donated hundreds of masks and scrub caps for the two local hospitals and surrounding long-term care facilities. Monica is a breast cancer survivor and is active in her community on spreading awareness about early detection and second opinions. She even has a pink tractor that she takes to parades and tractor rides to help spread awareness. In her free time, Monica enjoys quilting, the outdoors and spending quality time with her family.
